Audrey Hepburn, born Audrey Kathleen Ruston, was born in Belgium in 1929 and spent her childhood in the Netherlands. In Arnhem to be precise. Where she later studied ballet. Audrey became an award winning Broadway and Hollywood actress. Without a doubt mostly known for her roles in 'My Fair Lady' and the iconic 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. Because of her own experiences in the Second World War, she was very involved as an ambassador for UNICEF. Later in life, after she finished her career as an actress, she dedicated much of her time and energy to the organization, traveling to Africa, South America and Asia. For this she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992. She died aged 63 from cancer. When it became clear there was no cure anymore, during a stay in Los Angeles, her dear friend Rachel Lambert Mellon arranged for a private jet filled with flowers to fly her back home to Switzerland, where she passed away not long after.
