Dame Elizabeth Taylor was born in a wealthy district of London, in 1932. Her family, of American origins, moved back to the United States and settled in California. Elizabeth Taylor was signed on by MGM and on her tenth birthday appears in the movie Lassie Come Home. Her first big success as an adult came with the movie Father of the Bride, alongside Tracy Spencer and Joan Bennett. Her amazing acting skills have been praised by critics after her role in A Place in the Sun, acclaimed as a classic.
In 1960 she became the highest paid actress of her time and became a legend with her role in Century Fox's lavish production of Cleopatra. Her performance in the movie Butterfield 8, opposite her then husband, Eddie Fischer, won her an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She shares the silver screen with great names such as Marlon Brando, Mia Farrow and Warren Beatty.
