A lovely small and quaint city to stroll through. Ottawa is home of the Canadian federal government as well as the oldest Canadian University. Ottawa was chosen as the capital of Canada in 1857, when Queen Victoria was asked to appoint a common capital for the Province of Canada (modern day Ontario and Quebec). Nowadays Ottawa remains capital even though it is only the fourth largest city in Canada. Prepare for extreme temperatures when there, the winters are sometimes even colder than in Moscow (which is situated far more north) and in summers it can get way above 30 degrees Celsius. This calls for a widely extended wardrobe.
