Carine Roitfeld was born in Paris, France in 1954. Her father was her idol, a Russian film producer who had moved to Paris before working in Berlin. Her mother was an exquisite French woman, lavishing upon her daughter all the class and distinction of her bourgeoisie status.
She began modeling at 18, but soon discovered her passion for writing. She became a writer and then a stylist for French magazine ELLE. She then went on to work as a consultant and muse for Tom Ford at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent for six years.
As the Editor-in-Chief of the French edition of Vogue, she has been a great influence and a powerful presence in the fashion world. Her classic features and timeless beauty, paired with her fierce and distinguished dress sense, make her an inspiration to all women. She inspires women to be strong individuals and to strive to achieve any goal set.
