We have a gorgeous new LaDress design and we need your help to name it. All our designs are named after women who inspire us, so simply choose the name of a woman who inspires you and tell us about it for your chance to win your very own LaDress.
You can no longer enter the name contest.
The winning entry will be decided by LaDress judges Lauren Verster, Thijs Willekes and Simone Van Trojen and will be announced in September 2011 on our LaBlog and in our newsletter.
We will contact the winner through Facebook and they will receive a personalized dress with their own name and the name that they submitted in the label.

I think there's only one name suitable for this dress: 'Minneke'. My beautiful, strong mother, who is always positive although she often has lots of pain. I would be so proud to wear a dress with her name. I love her.

"Vianne".... gisteren de fijne film Chocolat voor de zoveelste keer gezien: Vianne, een eigenzinnige, creatieve, zelfstandige vrouw, opent een chocolaterie in een dorpje in Frankrijk. Daar blijkt iedereen vastgeroest te zitten in gewoontes en vooroordelen. Langzaam lukt het Vianne iedereen te ontdooien en meer te laten genieten van het leven.

3- OPHELIA, tijdens onze zomervakantie in Spanje afgelopen maand een heel mooi meisje ontmoet, Ophelia genaamd, als ik nog eens een dochter mocht krijgen zou ik haar zo noemen. Ophelia had hele mooie jurken aan de keren dat ik haar gezien heb, ze zou zomaar model kunnen zijn voor La Dress!

Toelichting: Jane (Austen) of Fay (Weldon) passen m.i. wel binnen jullie collectie. Alhoewel beiden gerespecteerde serieuze literaire schrijfsters, zijn zij zo'.n beetje de voorloopsters van de huidige "chick lit"
Zij schreven nl. in een grappige, humoristische stijl over ook voor de jonge hedendaagse vrouwen herkenbare thema's..
Jane schreef al in de 18e eeuw(!) b.v. ." Pride and prejudice" (Je-weet-wel: die van Mr. Darcy/ /Colin Firth)

Net als de Ladress jurken zijn de boeken van Jane tijdloos en stijlvol; vandaar.

Ik zou de nieuwe jurk "Andy" noemen, naar Andy Allo, een zangeres uit Kameroen die momenteel met Prince door Europa toert. ik zag haar op North Sea Jazz en daar droeg zij jurken met zoveel flair en elegantie dat ze mij meteen inspireerde weer meer jurkjes te dragen. Ricky, genoemd naar mijn moeder. Zij was op en top vrouw en droeg iedere dag make-up en hakken. Mode was voor haar een manier om te laten zien wie ze was. It means 'peaceful' and 'still' ('sereen' in Dutch). To me, peace and serenity is what our world needs right now, with everything going on in the middle-east and our economy.
Still not confinced? Think about the woman Serena (tennis player). She's so strong, sexy and confident at the same time. That's what I feel when I wear a lovely LaDress.

I would call the next dress "May-Britt" to honour a special girl I met this summer.
Although she is only 15, she should be an inspiration to us all.
At the age of 4 she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and again when she was 8 years old. She has had, en still has, quite some difficulties fitting in to daily life with her dissabilities.
But she is the most optimistic, caring and radiant person I have ever met.
A real example I would say.

Puck, naar het meisje dat nu in de media is vanwege haar "neuroblastoom" kijk snel naar www.gelukvoorpuck.nl 1 op de 25 kids krijgen deze ziekte en behandeling is niet altijd in NL te krijgen en wordt niet geheel vergoed.

"I would call the next LaDress BRIGITTE because….it reminds me of Brigitte Bardot, the French style icon of the 60's. When I saw the dress I thought: this dress has "Brigitte Bardot" written all over it. Sexy yet stylish, the new dress is amazing and represents everything Brigitte bardot embodied: she was the incarnation of femininity, with lots of va-va-voom and sex appeal .
Bardot's style was very chic and feminine. She never went in for luxurious clothes, preferring simple, classic pieces instead. Just like this dress: chic, feminine, classic…."poetry in motion" (love the way the material "moves" when in motion). Her sexy, fashion-forward image had men falling at her feet and so does this dress.
Bardot's body formed a huge part of her sex appeal and the main reason why clothes just looked so good on her. And the shape of this gorgeous dress reminds me of her. Beautifully proportioned, she always dressed to play up her tiny 22 inch waist - either by wearing dresses that were cinched and fitted at the waist, or by putting on a wide belt. Just like this dress....
Even the "mousey blonde" hairstyle of the illustration model reminds me of her…..carefree, bed-head style! So I choose for "LaDress Brigitte"

Next to "LaDress Brigitte" could be also called "LaDress Bardot "(please read my previous messages for explanation). I still think the dress is a "classic beauty" just like Brigitte Bardot (an inspiration not only for being a style icon but also for the great job she did and still does to save animals in need)
On a more personal note...I would also call the next LaDressCatarina / Katarina / Catharina (meaning "pure") because this was the name of my God-mother, a woman who really inspired me. Since I was little I looked up to her! She was beautiful, stylish, gracious, educated, she loved to travel, she was a strong person who was always there for everybody else. I always wanted to become like her when I grow up. Unfortunately she passed away many years ago at the age of 34, but I still hope she is proud of me. So I thought having the chance to name a dress after her (and even having the chance to wear it ) would be such a nice tribute. She would have looked wonderful in this playful & stylish dress :)

She was definitely born before her time. She loved colourful dresses. She always encouraged me to be an independent women who could look after herself. Ik krijg dit onderwerp niet te zien op FB, dus dan maar zo als de aktie nog niet over is. Een eeuwig stijlicoon en een missionaris voor het dragen van de goed gemaakte jurk was lady D in haar tijd. I would call the next LaDress Farrah because I think naming the dress after Farrah Fawcett, the style icon of the 70s would be such a great tribute.
She was also one of the women I admire. Beauty & brains, pretty & fresh, the girl next door, she was more than your average pinup queen. She was stylish, gracious, bouncy (just like this dress), I can totally imagine her wearing it.The Farrah marketing machine took her on a wild ride through the sexploitation 70s, but she kept her girl-next-door appeal and grow into an independent woman who has faced adversity.

I would call the next LaDress Léa (also means "delicate") becuase Léa Seydoux is an inspiring, gorgeous young French actrees whose simple, carefree French chic style I happen to love. She is quirky, sexy, and elegant, embraceing the natural look...just like this dress! There is a simplicity in her style I truly admire.
I would call the next LaDress Claudia (after Claudia Cardinale) because she was a beautiful, stylish woman. Even Fellini casted her as "the perfect woman". Perfect, just like this dress!
Other names could be….LaDress Catherine (after Catherine Deneuve) - for the same reasons.

Rania or Noor, after the Queens of Jordan. Two incredibly strong women with a sense of duty and love for their people. And Angelina (after Angelina Jolie) is also a good choice. Maybe a wrap dress in emerald green for her.
